Project in the spotlights: Clayton of Belgium
Clayton of Belgium Chooses a Future-Oriented Production Facility with Willy Naessens Industrial Buildings. For more than six decades, Clayton of Belgium has been developing and manufacturing innovative steam generators and energy-efficient steam solutions for a wide range of industrial applications. Thanks to its strong focus on innovation, quality, and sustainability, the company has become a well-established and respected player within its industry.
To further support this growth and create space for future developments, Clayton is investing in a brand-new production facility in Bornem. The new building will not only provide additional capacity but will also reinforce the company’s innovative image and prepare it for the challenges of tomorrow.
Why Clayton Chose a New-Build Project
Clayton’s current facility has been in use for approximately 65 years. “While the site has supported the company’s growth for many years and played an important role throughout various stages of expansion, its physical limitations have become increasingly apparent,” says Levi Stenten, General Manager EMEA at Clayton of Belgium.
The new facility has been designed with a smart and efficient layout. Although the building footprint will be smaller than that of the existing site, a greater construction height and an additional mezzanine floor will create significantly more usable space. In this way, Clayton is creating a sustainable production environment that is ready for further growth and operational optimisation.
With a total surface area of approximately 14,000 m², the new site represents a major investment in the company’s future.
A Partner Involved from Design to Delivery
For the realisation of this ambitious project, Clayton was looking for a construction partner that could demonstrate the necessary expertise and reliability.
The company ultimately selected Willy Naessens Industrial Buildings. Its strong price-quality ratio played an important role in the decision, alongside the positive experiences and recommendations Clayton received from the market.
Another key advantage was Willy Naessens Industrial Buildings’ strong local presence. The fact that several concrete elements are produced just a few kilometres from the project site aligns perfectly with Clayton’s vision of efficiency and collaboration.
The presence of an in-house Technics department within Willy Naessens Industrial Buildings also provided significant added value. This integrated approach not only creates benefits during the construction phase but also offers interesting opportunities for future collaboration.
Turnkey Realisation Under One Roof
For this project, Willy Naessens Industrial Buildings is delivering the facility through a turnkey construction approach. Thanks to this integrated model, Clayton benefits from a single point of contact throughout the entire construction process.
From engineering and production to execution and coordination, all critical stages are managed in-house. This ensures optimal control over quality, planning, and budget, while allowing the client to remain focused on its core business activities.
The combination of industrial construction expertise, in-house production capacity, and specialised technical support makes it possible to create a future-proof business environment that perfectly matches Clayton’s ambitions.
A Well-Considered Design
The architectural design and renderings of the new facility were developed by CLVR. Their concept combines functionality, efficient use of space, and a modern appearance that reflects the innovative character of Clayton of Belgium.
Building for the Future
With this investment, Clayton of Belgium is taking an important step towards continued growth and innovation. For Willy Naessens Industrial Buildings, the project is another strong example of how industrial companies can be supported through integrated construction solutions that are future-oriented, efficient, and fully tailored to their needs.
