Willy Naessens Group is the first construction company to receive their CO2 neutral certificate
Sustainability is more than just a buzzword. They realise that all too well at Willy Naessens Group. As a market leader and innovator in industrial construction, the Group is taking further steps in its sustainability policy. As of today, their construction activities are independently certified as a climate-neutral organisation.
"The strategy and focus on sustainability was tightened in order to remain the pioneers of our sector." explains Dirk Deroose, CEO Willy Naessens Group. "The Group's strong business model in which the cohesion and control of all construction processes is the key to success also provides the foundation for the approach to sustainability."
The vertical integration model already included its own structural engineering study department, its own transport, its own production and execution of both earthworks and roof and joinery work. At the end of 2019, a new department offering the study and management of technical installations was added. The impact of climate-neutral business therefore reaches a climax. "Our turn-key mentality means not only vertical integration of all components in the construction process, but also circularityin our approach to climate neutrality." says Kris Vanrenterghem, CSO within the Willy Naessens Group. "We will also actively propagate this way of thinking to our suppliers and customers."
"As a leading family business, it is absolutely essential to focus on the long term and to take care of all future generations. The realisation that taking action is the only way to turn the tide is therefore something we propagate throughout the entire organisation. We also take a clear position: it has to be more climate-friendly! emphasises Willy Naessens.
In the coming decades, substantial investments will be made in targeted reductions followed by the offsetting of CO2 emissions, but also in circularity and the well-considered use of alternative and sustainable energy sources.
Based on these concrete steps, Willy Naessens Group is preparing itself for the future and can therefore, from now on, offer their customers a building that is built with the highest possible degree of co2 neutrality.
